#$leepwalkin by Swace

this is the 3rd project by swace and after months of just releasing singles we finally get the infamous sleepwalkin. Now if im to understand this sleepwalking is supposed to be a prelude to the dreaming out loud project that's gonna be released on a later date. However to go along with the dream metaphor this project seems to shows more nightmares of the past than anything and swace reactions to theses traumatic events. With the death and incarceration  of his friends and the daily life of a young black man struggling in this world hes actually "walking " with these nightmares in his head which turns out to be a great concept for a 8 song mixtape. In addition to that keeping the tracklist short actually benefits its like just come in do your job and leave it wasn't too much but yet wasn't too little. To date this is the most that swace stayed on the concept even the beat selection is real airy and dream like as a juxtaposition of the negative lyrics so it gives it a nice bounce and catchy vibe to it. However even with months of preparation it was still problems in the productions. Just like the previous projects, Swace produced this all by himself and we get the signature auto tune but it seems like swace heard his songs by himself and just released it not giving himself a chance to display to someone else as a second opinion. This is shown in a few songs where his lyrics seems to be offbeat with the beat from the beginning or it just gradually just get off beat. I wont say what tracks ill just let you listen to find out, but it really just takes you out of the mood that swace sets ups thus defeating the whole feeling that we are sleepwalkin with him.  Its only one feature its J3tt blizzi and most tracks J3tt is featured on he is screaming or has an aggression that kills the songs besides on whisper on xo mixtape (another project I was suppose to review) and what it is on cooly macloud mixtape (another one on my review list) but on sleepwakin its fits flowing with the beat with the negative thought and even making his verse fit with the story ("Sleepwalking through my conscious ....... Got me screaming in bed wishing I was dead" ) so its a great addition at the surface the project is flawless however with observation you will see the obvous flaws but give it a listen

Well its been a while before i did a review so i need to do the newest mixtape i listened to : $wace :In sickness comes health

 Now this mixtape was suppose to be in a different direction and it was ironically it seemed like a love letter to his alternative family. As it  seem like every song seem to talk about his bros or gang. The name the name of the mixtape could been named "family no friends" and could have made sense. Futhermore it seems M.U.S.I.C was a better mixtape concept  wise however this mixtape had better individual songs. With a new upbeat trap with a certain feel like chanting should be done on these beat so his song writing skills has been increased. However lyrical versatility has failed lets look at the songs.

1.Even 4 sounds like it belongs on even 6 a great opener for the mixtape it makes it seem like it connects with the old project   4/5

2. Lost N found (which samples kp shorty swing my way which Charles Hamilton also sampled for bk girls) in this song $wace talks about the previous street life that he was once living . So a look at his life from ny with the mention of an old flame keisha (so i guess neicy is out of the picture) and also boogotti a brother of swace  who was featured on his first mixtape cover 4/5

3. Politicin 2 maself in this song we get a look at his troubled life basicly having a therapy session with yourself while smoking and if my experience with weed  and thinking have been correct this is what i probably would sound like 5/5

4. Boo goo ti  is finally  a look at his full feelings of what happen to his fallen brother the only problem with this song is how short it was but it left me wanting more 5/5 it has a high rating because of the build up that we had for about 4 mixtapes and he finally opens up about it i wonder if we would get a more emotional look one day

5.Young boyz another version of lost n found just with a more wild out ghetto type feel 3/5

6. 2 11l gang  a real weird song with weird vocal effects and he choose to use a consistent flow talking about his gang shooting  despite the asap rocky type flow that kinda comes out of nowhere it still falls short of lost n found or young boyz

7. Bros pt 2 another song about having close to friends that he consider family do you see what i mean above about how this could been called family before fame  or something along those lines its not a bad song just after 2 songs about the same thing it gets pretty redondent and repetive but it's good song to play with ya homies in the cars

8. Let you  have it  a song about shooting and fucking good concept using let you have it as bullets or seeds but yea what happen to this health part i get the sickness the negative tjings in his lide  but where the healthy positive parts in his life like his son that he talked about in his other mixtape   we heard his son on lost n found so hows hes doing do swace have a job is he going to school we dont know for a title like in sickness comes health ots kinda hard to focus pn a concept when you need trying to leave from the sickness part

9. 4 da gang another song about (guess what swace and his gang will shoot you ) its a good song for what it is

10. So what  Is a apparent diss to a group of guys who  claims fours 7 thats not pro era  and its a banger for what it is

Besides the that you take it for what it is even 6 is still my favorite as a whole however i like the song independently but as a project it could have been done better

Under Construction 2 review

Another project released from someone in the Y.L.E (young lords era) camp. This time from cooly macloud a artist who was on $wace mixtape on the song memrios of the young and frass. Ironically this mixtape not only came out first but that is where $wace got the whole memoirs of the young and ... since cooly next big project (after the under construction series ) is memoirs of the young and sober. Anyway on with the review like the last one this will be totally unbias. We first start off with the song my thoughts and its good opener for a project like this.Really emotional next two songs are best rapper alive and children of the world.Now like 20% of mixtape is freestyles it cant really be judged in the same way as a song can be judge but however being an artist myself i can try to critique it as well. This song (off the bitch don't kill my vibe beat )is a hard hitting word play focus freestyle. Children of the world he seems to talk about the flaws of the youth and here arise a big problem of this project. His production value is lacking making the first words said hard to make out and inaudible (no $wace pun attended)but it changes and goes back to normal and finish the song with a poem (ala wale). Next is suit and tie freestyle and cooly makes a risky move and talks about sex but with a condom and as underwhelming as that may sound at first think about it.How many rappers(besides KRSone ;jimmy) or even young black men(no pun attended) talk about protection against hiv std and pregnancy. Its rare to hear and not only that cooly does with such confidence and style that it actually sounds cool to wear a jimmy hat. Next is another freestyle on the ali bomye beat featuring $wace and J3tt blizzi. In this song noonne left anything back on this track just straight bars from these 3 rappers. However once again cooly production value is brought up its not as bad but it apparent but cooly lyrics makes up for it. Next is started from the bottom and i have to say this is one of the weakest freestyles on here. Not to say its bad but it seem like it could have been a song instead of a freestyle and because its in a freestyle format it loses value but we do see alil peak with cooly's father issues. Next two songs are worwick ave and tears of fire. Worwick ave (a sample from duffy ) is a story about a boy who wishes for popularity then gets and couldn't handle it. Basically all that glitters isn't gold the song while good story telling is lacking in some parts but not enough to take you out the story just alil predictable. Tears of life is featuring J3tt blizzi and it seem to talk about the importance of rap which is a good concept and a beautiful beat (which a sample from swv)even though the chorus doesn't match the verses. However once again J3tt fucks it up alot with unnecessary aggression it kills the vibe cooly set up with the beat.The words ironically was nice but its more then words with rap and J3tt need to realize and understand that. Next song is the cycle which is a deeper look with cooly's relationship with his father. Unlike most songs that talks about a dead beat dad it wasnt anger but just stating that when you do something it has its repercussion and cooly who is also a father dont want to be the same as his father and he wishes to have a deeper relationship with his brothers on his dad side. A good song with a semi melloncoly feel. Next two songs are pay attention and young black man pt 2. Here's the problem datpiff(the website which hosted the mixtape ) doesn't allow certain instrumentals to be played and downloaded so we cant review them. So the next song is dumb it down and unlike lupe who just shows his lyrical abilities as intelligence cooly uses it to talk about the certain state of hiphop and say because of his underground status hes not gonna get known since he dont do what the mainstream but at the end shows a light of hope . unlike some rappers he his self is not the hope. Next 2 songs are 5 am and choices back then. 5 am kinda sounds like a interlude to dumb it down since it speaks on the same issues but with this freestyle it seems flow was the focus. Choice back then talk about what would happen if his girlfriend ( the main topic on the first under construction) and him never got together. This one of the songs i wish could have been longer i wanted to know what really could have happened if it never i believe if you been with someone for a long time you tend to wonder what would happen if it never came to be. The next song and final song o the project (the outro is basically a credit roll) and its called illest mom alive(i wonder what this song is about ) if you said his girlfriend you would be wrong. In this song we hear cooly thoughts on his mother which is not really that new(2 pac does it ) but it doesn't have to be it. As long as its real and from the heart and it seem real and from the heart make me wonder how bad me and mom relationship is and if a song can do that it most be good Overall: This is a good mixtape for the backpacker or just the people who like lyrical hiphop . it makes me wonder whats next on the 3rd installment and with not alot of features you can really hear cooly express his self the way he wants i give it an A - it would have been an A but the production while not that bad its still a slight dirstrion on some songs and the fact that this is s short listen which is not entirely cooly's fault due to datpiffs rules but still a solid listen with a combonation of good conespts beat choices and lyrics.  and i caught wind that the $wace and cooly collaborated and made a mixtape called sins of the father. the excitement can not be contain as i wonder what would happen if these two ever came together and talk about a common goal :being a father Give it a listen and create your own thoughts here http://www.datpiff.com/Cooly-Macloud-Underconstruction-2-mixtape.498395.html

M.U.S.I.C REVEIW

M.U.S.I.C STANDS FOR Mental Unity Sleepin In our Community its a mixtape from swace (which stands for Smoking Weed And Counting Ends )(someone really like backwnyms ) but this is the first mixtape from him and i being his bro will be completely unbias. Now before i talk each track i first would like to say every tack is a good listen tooo alone which some times hard to find on a mixtape with that said lets begin. First song is perfection is key feat J3tt Blizzi now seem like a song talking about the past when it comes to swace and his musical styles as apparent by the hook alone. the only semi problem i have with the song is the feature i mean J3tt did a good job painting pictures with words its just the calm vibe i felt from swace in the previous two verse was almost killed by J3tt hypeness and almost aggresive tone.However it was a good song in the long run. Next two is fukk bwoy (i seem like i spelt that wrong ) and squad feat T.G. To be honest fukk bwoy seems heavly inflused by chief keef (sosa bang bang) and squad is a good hype song that provides unity in a click or a group. A nice song to get fucked up to with a bunch of friends. even tho t.g verse was a lil lacking. After that is inaudable thoughts and hoodshxt. Inaudable thought dives into swace (opps i forgot the money sign) mental thoughts we hear him talking about the flaws from the hood and even talks of relgion (bless my son even though i dont pray though) and his topics chages a alil after a slight bridge in the song. however with Hoodshxt we get another look on the hood life it seem like with song its used more for protection then anything eles. The next song is GHETTO tendiecences. this song sounds like a flashback to ny i dont know why but then it flashes back to his previous song then again with a refrence from xo's mixtape which would be a nice lovely treat if u could catch them all. The next two songs direct goes together. The first one is cry and once again we take anothher dive in $wace (got it right ) mind this is a interlude but it deals with much like the fact about his parents relationship in partular his father's infindelty and how he dont want to do the same to niecy. Who's Niecy ? well if you didnt know its his baby mom and girlfriend in this song we get a real relationship song i say its real because it shows the trouble alil bit more then other songs about a significt others. So now we move on to memoirs of the young and frass a song feat cooly macloud in this song cooly plays the sober person talking to the high $wace (i mean look at what his name means ) good concept but the main flaw i hear is that $wace really defend smoking weed but just talks about the fact he does it in a song like this i think we could have dived in that stresss him out to smoke. next two songs RNP( Real Nigga Prosper) and Huuuuuuuuhhhh (i .. i .. i guessbecause its his ad lib he wanted to make a song that sounds like someone and he cant hear the person) now RNP a nother hype song u can listen to getting fucked up but i have a problem with it the chours goes .... "my nigga getting stress like when is our year i told them quit the bitching we gonna be right here " now one he told his friend to quit bitching thats something i would want to hear from a partner when i feel discourage (sarcasm) but i guess with his hood exterior harshness is needed but the next line is also troubleming we gonna be right here now i know he mean we gonna stay tight and all but if im worried about NOT going anywhere i dont needed to be reminded that im still stuck there but besides that its a good song and tg this time briought his a game and out shined on this track Next is run dat a reminder to the world that he is in fact kush kloud (its repeated alot ) but not only is he the memeber hes the boss i know tech n9ne repersent strange (hell their watermark is him screaming it ) but he dont mention them as much as swace does triple k (another name for Kush Kloud ) because of this i think this should have been the first song the next 2 songs is she could the d feat J3tt and XO and ma bitches with she could get the d we get the sex tips from 3 members from 11L (another name from triple K because k is the 11th Letter ) and ma bitches we see $wace's exes and other females saying that he love them all but not in love with his bitches (this is alot of writing ) Now the beats chosen for the mixtape is real hype beats and his verses do talk some of the same stuff some times (being ahood nigga) and it could get a tad bit repetive but the consepts the hooks and overall sound is very creative and different from the hood mixtapes ive listen to (im looking at u sosa) but overall i give it a A- or a B+ a solid mixtape with great productions and features the link is down below if you want to give it a listen http://www.datpiff.com/Swace-Music-Mental-Unity-Sleepin-In-Our-Community-mixtape.529876.html

lunar high (whore part 1)

as the moon stalks my pace in a rhythmic pattern i find walking to be a chore
. As the light from the lunar stalker  be the only flashlight that helps me see through this dark night, but out of the abyss is a star that shines bright enough to be considered a nova.
 Tunnel vision takes over my eyesight. Only focusing on this mysterious light that broke through the dark.
  I look up to try to see  if my follower is still doing its job and i was surprise to see that it has disappeared and reappeared in front of me in physical form
 i stop and let the light consume me once it did i feel bliss if only for a second
